Group Volunteer Info

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a group with Sunday Streets! Volunteering before or at the event is a great way to spend time with friends or colleagues while helping diverse communities across San Francisco get healthier and celebrate their unique neighborhood culture.

How to schedule a shift

Email volunteer@livablecity.org with the following information:

Shift you are interested in adopting

Number of volunteers

Name of group / organization for referral tracking

Name, phone number, and email of the group leader

 

Event-Day Opportunities

Hub Support

Setup and breakdown tents, tables and chairs and make Sunday Streets a vibrant community space for all to enjoy.

SHIFT TIMES: 9:00am-1:00pm, 1:00-5:00

REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 25 lbs

 
Mystery Shift

Help fill critical roles for Sunday Streets

SHIFT TIMES: 10:30am-2:30pm, 2:00-6:00

REQUIREMENTS: Can accommodate mixed ability groups

Pre-Event Opportunities

Outreach

Head out with staff to post no parking signs along the event event route

SHIFT TIME & LOCATION: Wednesday before each event from 12pm-3pm in the field

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many people are required to for a group volunteer shift?

You must have a minimum of 5 volunteers to schedule a group volunteer shift.

How long is a group volunteer shift?

Group volunteer shifts are a minimum of 4 hours and take place during the week and weekends leading up to an event and during event-day.

Are there age restrictions?

All ages are welcome, however some supervision requirements apply for minors.

All volunteers under 18 years old — must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver.

All volunteers under 16 years old — must be accompanied by an adult at no less than a 3 to 1 ratio of guardians to youth.
