Tenderloin Community Block Party

On Sunday, June 23, 2024,  from 12 PM to 5 PM, Sunday Streets SF will host the Tenderloin Community Block Party, creating 2 blocks of car-free fun and recreation on Golden Gate Avenue between Jones and Hyde Streets for the whole family to enjoy.

Sunday Streets SF is a program of the nonprofit Livable City and presented in partnership with SF Department of Public Health Community Health Equity & Promotion (CHEP), SF Municipal Transportation Agency, and the City and County of San Francisco.

Getting There

Livable City strongly encourages biking, walking, or taking public transportation to get to Sunday Streets.

MUNI:  For trip planning and other Muni-related info, go to sfmta.com. Visit sfmta.com/alerts the week before the event for updated information on any MUNI lines that may be impacted during the event. Bikes are allowed on the front racks of buses. The Tenderloin Sunday Streets route is served by the following Metro lines: K, L, M, T, and F lines on Market St, just one block west of the route at Civic Center and bus lines 5, 19, 27, 31, and 38, and Golden Gate Transit.

BART: Take BART to the Civic Center BART Station, which is just 1 short block from the Sunday Streets route. For trip planning, go to bart.gov.

BIKE: Go to sfbike.org to download a bike map to help find a flat, bike-friendly route from your area or the nearest transit stop to Sunday Streets. Got a long way to go? Shorten the trip by taking transit part of the way. MUNI buses have bike racks for 2 bikes, BART and Caltrain both allow bikes on board. For more information about bikes on BART, go to bart.gov/guide/bikes.

BY CAR: Please note parking options may be limited in the vicinity of Sunday Streets events, and no stopping or parking will be allowed on the event footprint. Towing will begin at 6 AM, and no vehicles are allowed to drive onto the route after 10 AM unless for local access and guided by a Sunday Streets staff or volunteer.

Check out Drive & Park to identify available parking lots and spaces nearby. Additionally, parking may be available at these locations near the route: Civic Center Plaza Garage at 355 McAllister St, Opera Plaza Garage at 601 Van Ness Ave near Golden Gate Ave, and Fox Plaza Garage at 1390 Market St.

TRANSIT, TRAFFIC & PARKING CHANGES

STREET CLOSURES & PARKING CHANGES

On June 23, 2024, the following streets will be towed of all vehicles starting at 6 AM:

  • Golden Gate Ave between Jones and Hyde St

No cars will be allowed on these blocks between 8 AM and 8 PM.

VEHICLE ACCESS FOR RESIDENTS, BUSINESSES & CHURCHES

If you need to exit/enter with a vehicle during the event, please get in touch with staff in advance via email at sundaystreets@livablecity.org or call 415-344-0489. Otherwise, wave down staff or volunteer in Sunday Streets t-shirts or call 415-344-0489 on event-day to get an escort who will guide you and help keep kids and other attendees safe.

DETOURS

Vehicles can cross the Sunday Streets route at:

  • Jones, Leavenworth, and Hyde Streets remain open to regular traffic with staff and volunteer monitors for safe passage
