Bayview Quick-Build
The SFMTA Bayview Quick-Build Project is located along Evans Ave, Hunters Point Blvd, and Innes Ave between Jennings and Earl streets. Improvements include lane removal and a protected bicycle and pedestrian lane to calm traffic and improve traffic safety in the neighborhood.

A) Bayview Quick-build Community Murals 
Enliven the walking and biking path with commissioned artworks from multiple Black & Bayview-based artists, Rhonel Roberts, Ata’ataoletaeao McNealy, Claudio Talavera-Ballon, Malik Seneferu, Tanya Herrera, and Ira Watkins, sponsored by the SF African American Arts & Culture District, Cemex, Spin, and Wendy MacNaughton.

B) THE BOX SHOP & Mural Project  951 Hudson Avenue  •   (boxshopsf.org)
Feast your eyes on 71 large-scale murals and installations by local artists covering The Box Shop's frontage, from Hunters Point Blvd. to around the corner along Innes Ave. The mural project has been a year in the making! The Box Shop is a collaborative workspace and studios for artists in the Hunters Point neighborhood focused on metal and industrial arts.

F) Heron’s Head Park & Eco Center

Celebrate Earth Month! Pick up the Wetland Explorers Activity Booklet at the EcoCenter or a take home art bag from Museum of Craft and Design stationed in the parking lot, from 11 am-2 pm. 



 * All classes are first come, first served with a cap of 25 participants. Onsite registration for classes with a specific start time will begin 15 minutes prior to class start and is required for contact tracing. All current COVID-19 protocols will be observed including face coverings, social distancing, sanitizing of shared equipment between each use, and reduced class sizes. 

** Freedom from Training Wheels by SF Bicycle Coalition & SFMTA is a great way to get kids riding without training wheels! This class is for children ages 2-5, with pedal bikes, balance bikes, and helmets provided for practice. A parent/caregiver must stay with their child for the duration of the class.

In response to the national movement to reconnect children to nature and the outdoors, the Nature Exploration Area will combine natural challenges and loose parts to promote physical activity, stimulate creativity, negotiate risk, and encourage teamwork, while cultivating an appreciation and respect for nature.

Help us design the new play space! There are three ways to get involved:
